The Upper and Lower Church Barns are located in the picturesque North Gower village of Llanmadoc, opposite St. Madoc’s Church and at the foot of Llanmadoc Hill.
The village itself is quaint and welcoming, and just a short walk east of the barns is ‘Our Shop’ - a post office, newsagents and grocery store that is run by the residents of Llanmadoc and a focal part of the community.
Further into the village is The Britannia Inn, a warm and atmospheric local pub offering lunchtime and evening meals on a modern, yet traditional pub menu.
Llanmadoc’s advantageous location means that it is surrounded by vast, sandy beaches and areas of natural beauty, most within walking distance.
North of the barns is Whiteford Burrows, a National Trust owned dune and pine plantation ideal for ornithology and botany enthusiasts alike.
Whiteford Sands and Broughton Bay are nearby beaches and sit along the Loughor Estuary. With huge sandy areas, rock faces and dunes, both beaches ensure there is plenty to enjoy nearby.
South West of Broughton is the secluded, rocky inlet Bluepool Corner. Accessible only on foot, this spot offers an isolated retreat with spectacular views of Llanelli and Burry Port across the estuary.
